How to build a resume in minutes
Start with a sample close to your job: one click loads a complete fictional resume that you overwrite with your own details. Then go through each section. Everything saves automatically on your device, so you can close the tab and come back.
- Experience: add, delete and reorder with the arrows. Put your newest job first.
- Bullets: start each line with a dash and lead with a result and a number.
- Skills: one per line; add “| 4” to show a level from 1 to 5.
The preview is intentionally low-resolution and watermarked. The paid PDF is vector, so text is sharp when printed and can be selected and copied.
One-page US resume vs. UK CV
| US resume | UK CV | |
|---|---|---|
| Length | One page for most people | Two pages is normal |
| Photo | No | No |
| Personal details | Never age, marital status or ID | Same; no date of birth |
| Opening | Short summary | Personal profile |
| Wording | Strong verbs, numbers | Similar, more descriptive |
| Extras | Optional skills and certifications | Interests and “references available on request” |
Use the US one-page template for jobs in the United States. It uses a standard serif font and shrinks automatically to fit on one page. The UK CV template adds a references line and allows a second page.
Photo, age and ATS: what US employers expect
In the US, employers generally do not want a photo, age, marital status or nationality on a resume, to avoid bias. That is why the photo is hidden by default here, with a switch if you apply for acting, modeling or abroad.
Many companies also run resumes through an applicant tracking system (ATS). The ATS-friendly version uses a single column, standard headings (Work experience, Education, Skills), standard fonts and real selectable text, with no decorative elements that could scramble parsing. Mirror keywords from the job post when they are true, and send a PDF made from text, not a scan.
3 real-life examples
Retail associate, 4 years
Load the “Retail sales associate” sample and swap in your store and numbers. “Exceeded monthly sales goal in 9 of 12 months” is the kind of line that gets interviews.
Recent graduate
Choose the Entry-level template: education, projects and leadership come first. A capstone survey of 200 customers beats a blank experience section.
Career changer
A former nurse moving to UX design lists portfolio projects first, then nursing, with bullets that translate the skills: “Trained new graduates and managed priorities in fast-moving situations.”
