📌 Key facts
- A birth chart needs three inputs: your birth date, birth time and birth place.
- Your Sun sign depends on your birth day; your Rising sign changes roughly every two hours.
- In Pythagorean numerology, the life path number comes from adding the digits of your birth date down to 1 through 9, except master numbers 11, 22 and 33.
- The 12 zodiac signs split into 4 elements: fire, earth, air and water.
- This report is entertainment: astrology and numerology have no scientific validity.
What the tool calculates
From your birth date, time and place, the tool calculates the ecliptic position of the Sun, the Moon and the eight planets, from Mercury to Pluto. Each position is a longitude from 0° to 360°, read in signs of 30°.
| Sign | Longitude | Element |
|---|---|---|
| Aries | 0° to 30° | Fire |
| Taurus | 30° to 60° | Earth |
| Gemini | 60° to 90° | Air |
| Cancer | 90° to 120° | Water |
The four elements then repeat: Leo (Fire), Virgo (Earth), Libra (Air), Scorpio (Water), and so on through Pisces.
What is a Rising sign (Ascendant)?
The Ascendant, or Rising sign, is the sign that was rising on the eastern horizon at the moment you were born. It changes about every two hours, which is why the exact time matters. It also depends on your location.
\[ \text{Ascendant} = \operatorname{atan2}(\cos(\text{LST}) \,;\, - (\sin(\text{LST}) \cdot \cos \varepsilon + \tan(\varphi) \cdot \sin \varepsilon)) \]
LST is local sidereal time, ε the obliquity of the ecliptic and φ your latitude. Houses are calculated as equal 30° houses from the Ascendant.
Pythagorean numerology
Each letter has a value: A, J and S are 1; B, K, T are 2; and so on up to I and R, which are 9. Add them up and reduce to one digit, except for the master numbers 11, 22 and 33.
| Number | Calculation |
|---|---|
| Life path | day + month + year, each reduced |
| Expression | all letters of the birth name |
| Soul urge | the vowels |
| Personality | the consonants |
| Personal year | birth day + month + current year |
Numerology report: working out your life path number
The life path number is the central figure in numerology. To find it, add every digit of your birth date, then reduce the total.
For example, for March 14, 1990: 1 + 4 + 0 + 3 + 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 27. Then 2 + 7 = 9. So your life path number is 9. If you land on 11, 22 or 33, however, you do not reduce it, because those are master numbers.
Each digit carries a symbolic meaning, such as independence for 1 or creativity for 3. Keep in mind that this is a reflection game, not a forecast.
Birth chart and numerology: the big three
Three markers always come up. First, the Sun describes your core identity. Next, the Moon points to your emotional life. Finally, the Rising sign shows the first impression you give.
If you do not know your birth time, the Rising sign becomes uncertain. In that case, check your birth certificate or ask family. Also, a few minutes can shift the Moon or the Rising sign.
To keep exploring, try the personality test with a report, the star map poster of your birth sky or the career aptitude test. All of it is entertainment.
Numerology and birth chart: reading the report well
Read the report as a prompt for reflection. For example, a Moon in Cancer suggests strong sensitivity, but your own life stays unique. So keep the words that speak to you and drop the rest.
Also, compare the chart with what close friends say about you. Next, note what surprises you. Finally, remember that numerology and birth charts are symbolic games. They never replace medical, legal or financial advice, and they do not predict the future.
Birth chart and numerology: keeping your report
The PDF report is easy to keep and share. First, download it and file it in a folder. Then reread it a few months later, because your reactions change with time.
For example, you can compare your report with a friend's. That way, you talk about your signs and your numbers. Also, this symbolic game makes a nice birthday gift.
If you like exploring your profile, try the personality test report too. Finally, give someone the night sky of their birth. So you link the symbols to real sky calculations. For entertainment, this mix of birth chart and numerology makes pleasant reading. Numerology serves as a number game, nothing more.
3 real-life examples
Born March 14, 1993 in Chicago at 9:30 p.m.
The Sun is in Pisces (23°), the Moon depends on the hour, and the Ascendant is calculated for Chicago. Life path: 1993 → 22 (master number, kept), March → 3, 14 → 5: \( 22 + 3 + 5 = 30 \) → 3.
Born May 5, 1990, time unknown
Sun in Taurus, Moon in Virgo (approximate). Life path: 1990 → 1, May → 5, 5 → 5: total 11, a master number kept as is.
Calculating an expression number
For "Marie Curie": \( M = 4 \), \( A = 1 \), \( R = 9 \), \( I = 9 \), \( E = 5 \), \( C = 3 \), \( U = 3 \), \( R = 9 \), \( I = 9 \), \( E = 5 \), which is 57, then \( 5 + 7 = 12 \), then \( 1 + 2 = 3 \).
