The author behind Outilix

I have taught math since 2001, and I design the Outilix tools. I check every formula, date every rate table, and say plainly when a result is only an estimate. I am not a lawyer, a doctor or a financial advisor.

Who I am
I have taught math since 2001. Twenty-five years in front of students teach you two things: a clear explanation beats a bare answer, and a calculation mistake shows up fast when you show the method. That is what drives every Outilix tool.
Why I built Outilix
Students, parents and colleagues kept asking me the same questions: how to turn gross pay into take-home pay, how to shrink a PDF, how to write a cancellation letter. The sites out there asked for an account, buried the page under ads, or gave an answer without saying how it was reached. I wanted to do the opposite.
My method
- The formula comes first. Each calculation is described in text, with worked examples you can redo by hand.
- Testing. I test each tool's logic on ordinary cases, edge cases and nonsense input.
- Dated rate tables. Every rate and every cap carries a date and a source, and I review them every year. It is all explained in the methodology.
- Honesty about limits. When a result is only an estimate, I say so.
What I am not
I am a teacher, not an attorney, accountant, doctor or financial advisor. The tools help you understand and prepare. For an important decision such as a contract, taxes or your health, ask a professional.
