AI text checker with a clear breakdown

Paste at least 50 words and the checker scores how much your text resembles AI writing, based on visible signals: evenly sized sentences, stock phrases like "it is important to note", transition words opening sentences and a lack of personal voice. The score is a hint, never a verdict, and your text stays in your browser.

Estimate only, not a guarantee. No AI detector is 100% reliable: human writing can be flagged as AI and the reverse. Never use this score alone to accuse someone of cheating.

How this AI checker works
This tool does not compare your text to a database of generated content and never contacts an AI model. It measures writing signals that language models often produce, then adds them up.
| Signal | What is measured | Effect on the score |
|---|---|---|
| Sentence rhythm | relative spread of sentence lengths | -10 to +22 points |
| Stock phrases | "it is important to note", "plays a crucial role", "delve"… | up to +30 points |
| Transition words | share of sentences opening with "furthermore", "moreover"… | up to +14 points |
| Repeated openers | same first word in 30% or more of sentences | +8 points |
| Personal voice | "I", casual words, questions, emoji | down to -22 points |
\[ \text{score} = 35 + \text{sum of effects} ,\ \text{limited to} \ 2\% \, \text{through} \ 98\% \]
Below 35%: reads as human. From 35% to 59%: mixed. From 60%: reads as AI.
Why no AI detector is 100% accurate
Polished writing with lists and transitions, or writing by someone using English as a second language, can look machine-made. On the other side, AI text that has been edited by hand often slips through. Published evaluations of commercial detectors report false positives, especially on student essays and non-native writers.
- A high score is a clue, not proof.
- A low score does not prove a person wrote every word.
- Short texts (under 100 words) give very unstable scores.
To judge whether an assignment is authentic, compare it with the author's other work and talk with them.
Making your writing sound more like you
If your own text scores high, a few edits help: vary sentence length (a 4-word sentence after a 25-word one), swap mechanical transitions for natural links, add a firsthand example or a precise number and cut phrases that say nothing.
3 real-life examples
A marketing blog paragraph
A 90-word paragraph with eight sentences of about 11 words each, four transition words opening sentences ("furthermore", "moreover"…) and "plays a crucial role" scores above 60%: reads as AI.
A casual personal message
A first-person story with sentences from 3 to 30 words, an "Honestly?" and a parenthesis falls under 35%: reads as human.
A text that is too short
A 32-word text is not scored. The checker asks for at least 50 words because below that, sentence rhythm tells you nothing.
