To organize a PDF, drop it in and every page shows up as a thumbnail. Drag pages to reorder them, or use the arrows on a phone. Delete, duplicate or rotate a page, insert a blank one, undo any mistake, then download the new PDF. Everything runs in your browser, so the file is never uploaded.

📌 Key facts

  • The tool shows each page as a thumbnail numbered by its place in the future document.
  • You can move, delete, duplicate or rotate a page, or insert a blank one.
  • Undo remembers up to 60 steps.
  • Text, images and vector art carry over as is, with no recompression.
  • Bookmarks and clickable tables of contents do not carry over to the new file.
  • Your original file stays unchanged and never leaves your browser.

Reorder, delete and duplicate pages in four moves

The tool shows each page as a thumbnail, numbered by its place in the future document. Nothing is written until you click "Create the new PDF".

  • Move: drag a thumbnail onto another, or tap ◀ and ▶ (easier on a touchscreen).
  • Delete: ✕ removes the page from the result. Your original file is not changed.
  • Duplicate: ⧉ inserts a copy right after the page, handy for a cover sheet or a form you need several times.
  • Blank page: + adds an empty page, the same size as its neighbor, to separate sections or leave room for notes.

Undo remembers up to 60 steps, and Redo replays them.

What is kept in the new file

ItemResult

When to use Organize instead of Merge or Split

To combine several files, use Merge PDF; to pull out part of a file, use Split PDF. Organize PDF is for working on one document: putting a scrambled scan back in order, dropping a cover sheet, adding a blank page before a chapter, or getting a file ready for double-sided printing.

How to organize a PDF page by page

To organize a PDF, you do not need any software. Here is the fastest method.

  1. First, drop your file into the box.
  2. Next, wait for the thumbnails to appear.
  3. Then drag pages into the right order, or tap the arrows on a touchscreen.
  4. After that, delete or duplicate the pages that need it.
  5. Finally, click "Create the new PDF" to download the result.

So nothing changes until you confirm. If you slip, undo takes you back up to 60 steps. So you can organize a PDF without stress, even a long one.

Real examples of how to organize a PDF

Each situation calls for a different move. When you organize a PDF, these cases come up most often.

SituationMoveFinal pages
Scan with two pages swappedDrag page 4 before page 3Unchanged
Contract with a useless cover sheetDelete page 1One fewer
Form needed in three copiesDuplicate the page twiceTwo more
9-page report for double-sided printingAdd a blank page at the end10
Chapter to set apartInsert a blank page before itOne more

For example, a 7-page PDF leaves a half-empty last sheet when you print double-sided. However, with one blank page it becomes 8 pages and prints cleanly.

Mistakes to avoid when you organize a PDF

A few traps show up again and again. You can dodge them easily.

  • Deleting without checking: look at the thumbnail before you click the cross. If you hesitate, undo.
  • Counting on bookmarks: they do not carry over, because the pages moved.
  • Forgetting page direction: if a page lies sideways, rotate it while you sort.
  • Downloading too early: read the thumbnail numbers first, since they show the future document.

Once those points are settled, your file is ready. Then organize PDF jobs feel easy. If you only need to turn every page, however, Rotate PDF is quicker.

Organize a PDF with other tools on the site

This tool works on one document. For other needs, switch tools.

To combine several files, use Merge PDF. To pull out a few pages, pick Split PDF. Once the file is in order, add numbers with Add page numbers to PDF. In addition, to trim the margins of a scan, go to Crop PDF.

All in all, you can organize a PDF in three minutes: sort, clean, number. So keep that order of work and your document will look sharp.

3 real-life examples

1

Fix a scrambled scan

The scanner fed pages 3 and 4 in the wrong order, so you drag page 4 in front of page 3. The thumbnail numbers update right away and the new PDF still has 8 pages.

2

Drop two pages you do not need

A 14-page contract has a cover sheet and a blank page. Click ✕ under each one, and the message reads "The new PDF will have 12 page(s)".

3

Get ready for double-sided printing

Your file has 7 pages, an odd count. Add a blank page at the end with + so the last sheet prints correctly, for 8 pages in total.

Frequently asked questions

How do I rearrange pages in a PDF?
Drop the PDF, then drag a thumbnail onto the spot where you want that page. On a phone, tap the ◀ and ▶ arrows under the page. Download the result when the order looks right.
How do I delete a page from a PDF?
Click the ✕ button under the page thumbnail. It disappears from the result, and you can bring it back with Undo until you download the new file.
Can I insert a blank page into a PDF?
Yes. The + button under a page inserts a blank page right after it. It takes the size of the neighboring page (A4 if there is none to copy).
Does this change my original file?
No. The tool builds a new PDF from the pages you keep. Your starting file stays untouched on your device, and the result is a separate file.
Is there a page limit?
There is no fixed limit, only the file size (200 MB) and your browser memory. Thumbnails load as you scroll, which keeps large documents smooth.
